Padstow Library: Double the Size
Clr. Parker claims that only when the local ALP caucus is removed from control of the local Council will the Padstow Library gain its much needed extension.
It was one of Clr. Parker's 1999 Election promises to initiate such an extension. He put this forward, and was advised that the smaller area proposed (the current courtyard) would not be
economic to extend, given the small increase in the floorspace.
Clr. Parker says "Why not simply extend the library down towards, or behind the Baby Health Centre? The land is a wasted Community resource at present."
In addition, the Padstow library (and also Panania) urgently need to have extra Internet capable terminals.
"It really is disgraceful that in 2002, we will start the year with two Internet terminals in Padstow library!" Clr. Parker commented.
