Clr. Max Parker was impressed, when he recently visited Bankstown's new Velodrome and Sealed Field and Athletic Track at The Crest.

"It is a truly magnificent venue - a construction to truly benefit Bankstown, and one our residents can be proud of. The sealed Athletic Track at the facility is wonderful. It has all field amenities such as shotput, long jump etc."

Clr. Parker has been a long term supporter of the facility, long before the Olympics were awarded to Sydney. "I recognised the long term importance of such a facility for the people of Bankstown."

The facility will be managed eventually by the Bankstown Sports Club, and will also be a revenue raiser, as the facility will be hired out to various clients such as school districts carnivals.
